Works great in a 2006 Subaru WRX Limited

This bearing is a huge improvement over the broken one. Unfortunately I had to take it to a mechanic to have the old pressed out and the new pressed in but they said it was a great brand. My car runs so smooth now! Just so you know, this was used in the driver's side rear hub. 2006 Subaru WRX Limited

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Otherwise the camp was bad.

I am a DIY enthusiast and have made several wheel bearings over the years. This only lasted 6 months. I've never had to change a wheel bearing more than once before. I gave it 2 stars as there might be another issue with my worldview causing this. I will change the wheel bearing and then check the wheel alignment. If I find the alignment misaligned I will change my rating otherwise the bearing was bad.

Quality Koyo Roller Bearing Rebranded by Timken

I am a professional technician with 20 years of Japanese and German import experience. I bought them for my wife's forester so if I say they're good you can take them to the bank. These are Koyo bearings with the new Timken brand. Koyo makes great camps. This stock was part of the cost of the dealer part. For those wondering, this is an updated roller bearing design, not the ball bearing design that was so problematic and prone to breakage on Subaru.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Some bugs

2001 Subaru 2.5RS rear hub bearings.

I've long been a big fan of Timken seals and bearings, and this one is no exception. The bearing is buttery smooth and the perfect size for a Subaru wheel bearing change. I have used this on the left rear wheel of my 01 Impreza with no problems. It comes in a Timken box wrapped in plastic to protect the lube from dirt. After installing this on my car I now have a nice smooth ride. Very happy with this camp despite being a bit more expensive than the others. You can count on Timken to make a…

Great Timken Bearing

Bearing fitted and working perfectly, was impressed with how quiet the car was once fitted. The mechanic said it was the best replacement for the original part and would last a long time. So far so good - I've also purchased (Timken 710529 Seal and Timken 710226 Seal), preferably fresh and new as the existing ones may be damaged. It is possible to use existing gaskets, but they sometimes become damaged with time or distance, so it's best to replace them with new ones. I drive bad roads in…

Timken Bevel Gear Bearing 513248 on Subaru Forester

I had 196,000 miles on my 2007 Subaru Forester. During my trip from California to Texas, a strange noise came from the back of my car. Noise levels varied with speed, becoming loudest at around 55 mph. When I got to Texas, I was able to lift the back of the car and spin the wheels, which allowed me to feel the roughness in the wheels' motion. I removed both rear wheel hubs and swapped the original wheel bearings from ball to cone. It's nice and quiet now. NOTE: Timken bearings are now made in…

Inspecting a warehouse is challenging because durability is so important.

It is difficult to analyze the bearing because the service life is very important. Timken, the first made in the USA, has a big name. Out of the box the bearing looked fine and turned very smoothly and was said to be made in the USA which is very good. Fits perfectly on my Forester 220k workhorse, at least 500k so any repair must be of the highest quality. I've had great luck with some Japanese bearings (especially over the years), but be wary of some great "Made in China" bearings, most of…
