How to fall in love with a reinker? I have no idea, but I do. I make handmade books and magazines and love using Tim's grunge paper for the spines of my books. When I'm done aging and painting, my rivets will look like I've cut open an old weathered leather jacket. Ideal! But to do it like this, I do it with a walnut stain stain. Absolutely perfect color. love love love My secret: I put some Rainer in a spray bottle with alcohol, spray it on grunge paper, then drop a Rainer pipette on it, take a piece of foam and rub everything with it. Then I crumple up the paper and run a nail or wrench over it to highlight it, then take some foam and darken those areas. When the alcohol spray is applied first, the fibers appear to soften and open up to create the color. Works every time. I fix it with a diluted spray from Claudine Hellmuth Multimedia Matte. I apply 3 very thin coats. Hope this helps someone else experimenting! :-)
