Well I failed the first few times - user error - because I kept forgetting to put down first and then go up. Every time I thought I had it, I realized I had made another mistake. After the third try, after taking everything apart again, try number four hit the mark! It was easy enough to figure out without instructions. The picture was the most helpful. I've never plugged in lights before so this was an amazing new experience for me. I did a little research myself, ordered what I thought I needed, then tried and wrong. Do not get me wrong. I made a working lamp 💡 on the first try, but since I kept forgetting the details that should have gone in first before the pipe, it didn't last. Each time I realized what I had done wrong before. It was a great learning experience and a great validation of what I learned by repeating the same steps multiple times. Now I am absolutely sure that I can fix any table lamp and maybe even floor lamps without any problems. with that and so glad it worked out. I restore antiques for a living and this would be a good skill to add to my toolbox.
