Review on πŸ”§ High-Quality Fuel Valve Petcock for KAWASAKI Vulcan 800 VN800 51023-1260 (1995-2006) by Jason Wilson

Can't beat the price

Installed screws looked used as they were rounded but it worked. A review said the fuel line size was different from the factory, and it is. The factory size for the 99 VN800 is 5/16" from the tap to the 1/4" inlet at the carburetor. It's a 1/4" outlet, which means I can just buy one fuel line at an auto parts store instead of fitting two sizes. In the state we live in, we have a mandated ethanol content in gasoline and our fuel lines are wearing out quickly as a result. Now all I need is one size and no modifications or jigs to mount my carburetor. And if I need new bolts, I'll get them if I buy more fuel lines. The valve stem had to be shortened, but I cut the length, not the width. The valve selection notation is also wrong, but I don't care about the price I paid. I know the bike and the positions are at least the same as the original valve.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • poorly thought out
