Review on ๐ŸŒน Elevate Your Crochet Projects with the Tulip Etimo Rose Crochet Hook Set by Linda Diaz

Nice hooks but cut off your fingertips if they hurt!

I really like the hooks, they are smooth and secure yarn/cotton. The grips, while nice, are quite hard, not soft, and you have to hold them fairly far from the handle to avoid thumb swollen before the thumb grip is comfortable. I crochet about 6-9 hours a day and my thumb hurts because the grip needs to be longer and softer. Thumb thickening is a problem and like some other reviewers, my thumb hurts! If only the Tulip Hook and Clover Amour Handle could connect and make babies ๐Ÿคฃ. My solution to the thick thumb problem is to simply cut it off with a sharp utility knife (see image). The elastomer grip material is very easy to cut, just be confident and cut in one smooth cut and then bevel the edges of the first cut slightly if needed. Voila! *UPDATE* I've found that the handles work well for a smooth dremel...after cutting off the thumb stud (easier) attach a fine, low-power whetstone to the dremel and, being careful, smooth the edges so as not to damage the metal part of the hook. After sanding, attach a new buffing head and buff gently to remove imperfections and smooth the handle. I've now done this with my entire set plus additional features and find them much more comfortable to use as a result. It also makes it easier to slide the pencil grip over the stylus when you want a softer, more comfortable surface.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
