Review on Mount-It! Low-Profile TV Mount: Flush Large TV Wall Mount for 42-70 inch Screen TVs - Slim & Sturdy Design (220 lbs Capacity, VESA 850x450 Compatibility) by Mar Pacora

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Strong and solidly made, but a critical "oops "!

This is a great, durable, low profile wall mount. It's simple, durable, and well-made, and it certainly gets the job done. And it comes with a nice hardware kit that includes 6 large wall screws and a set of mounting screws and spacers to hold the TV in place. I didn't use the included HDMI cable and prefer my own high quality cables. But it has one incredible downside - it would be SO EASY for the manufacturer to fix it. but I think it's "too late". You probably know that the old standard for residential buildings in North America is 16 inches center to center. So when you install this bracket on the wall of your house, you need to find a place for the 0, 16 and 32 inch spacing screws. Although this bracket has many long screw slots for wall mounting, there is NOwhere you could find them in 0, 16 and 32 inches! Incredibly stupid it seems. Here, too, the country of manufacture probably has a different distance standard. However, if you are selling the product in North America, you really should include the appropriate spacing/slot for the standard here. Anyway, I had to get out my angle grinder and lengthen the slots closer to the center of the mount by about 3/4" to get the 0/16/32 spacing I needed. and then screwed it securely to my wall studs. You could hang a car on this mount if you could figure out how to attach it to the vertical. I would give it a full five stars aside from that "oops" slot spacing design. Greg PS Now that I look back at the Revain product photo, I realize that some people may be confused by my comments above. The product photo shows a continuous row of long slots, so if I had received the mount shown it would certainly have been possible to compete at 16.00.32. But the wall mount I received is slightly different from the one in the photo. I have these wide slots are not tight. Most likely there is more metal left closer to the center of the bracket, so the slots are narrower. I may have an older design that has now been corrected with the design shown in the image. Or maybe I have a newer design that added more metal for strength, but that unintentionally caused the 0/16/32 spacing problem. I do not know. But when I unpacked it, it was "new in the box" and arrived via Revain Prime in mid-February 2014.
