Slim, durable and works exactly as advertised

This is a winner. I've tried various sous vide silicone bags and these are by far the best. At first I was concerned because they don't close at the top, but this works for two reasons. First, they're fairly thin and flexible, making it easy to remove air from the material. Second, they're long enough to easily fit on my bin - I have a matching lid so I just clip it between the lid and bin and it all works fine. They are easy to clean - twist them. inside out and wash. There are no small tears and the material is soft and falls easily. They can smell a bit, so I'd consider using one for certain things (like strong flavors like onion and garlic) and another for delicately flavored unsweetened foods (like custard). They may not work perfectly for full bags. lots of little things (like new potatoes) that are hard to get air out of, but I haven't tried it yet. Young potatoes are just tricky without a proper vacuum sealer, which I avoid as it's expensive and I'm trying to reduce plastic waste. I've used ziplock bags but they're still difficult to get the air out of and I'm always worried about them at this high temperature (190 F) - the plastic gets harder and more brittle which means it's more brittle and possibly penetrating food. Ideally I'd like a sealed version, but we don't have a good silicone solution to this problem. In the meantime, I'll keep enjoying it. I will update in time.
