I bought this hoping to hook up a keyboard, mouse and number pad. All 3 have fairly bright LEDs but 2 of them are USB 2.0 and one is USB 3.0 so I bought the 3.0 version thinking it might support power consumption. Unfortunately, my keyboard didn't fully light up with the recommended 5V power supply. When I gave it a higher power supply, it supported all my peripherals, but it made a very high-pitched tone that was painful unless I lowered the brightness up Values that he maintained with a weaker power supply. I would also like to point out that I bought the Rosewill version and it didn't even light up my keyboard, even with a more powerful PSU. If you don't use power-hungry peripherals and are still considering it, I would recommend this one over Rosewill because 1) more power support 2) cheaper 3) much less space. The only reason to go with Rosewill is if you want to hide the actual USB switch and just have a small button on your desk to switch between computers.
