Very helpful! I used it to carry medium sized binoculars for a multi-day hike. I remember my neck hurting from hiking for hours with a camera (which is much lighter than binoculars). The belt helped distribute the weight across the shoulders and upper back. I hardly felt any weight! FYI, this works for both boys and girls (even with different breast shapes). The only thing is that it is a bit more difficult to put on and take off and the strap can get tangled around the body at times. As long as you're careful, it's not a problem.
