The equipment provided is unnecessary. Use a kit that includes a METAL Anchor instead. I used what I got from the store at home, specifically Stud Solver #7 x 1-1/4 in. Alloy Pan Head Self Drilling Drywall Anchors with Screws (2pcs) from EZ Anchor. Don't try to just use the stand, it's too unstable and you don't want your Blu-rays to collapse. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS: First you will need another pair of hands. Have someone put it on the wall and use the knobs to mark the whole thing. Obviously it should be right in the middle of the hole. Next make a pilot hole. I used 1/8 bit. Then screw in the dowel with a drill. After that, take the shelf and fasten it securely. Great success. If you don't want to wall mount it, just don't buy it. Otherwise you will not be happy.
