Review on Houdini 8-Inch Stainless Winged Corkscrew: Efficient Wine Opener for Easy Uncorking by Lawrence Reuter

In my opinion, despite all the new-fangled frills, this is the classic form of a corkscrew, always reliable. Unfortunately my old one was lost or possibly left at a lunch somewhere. What I really love about this one, which is very similar to my old one, is the copper color. I have some old copper bits from a trip to Devon and Cornwall and even a brass cap on my cooker so I knew a copper colored corkscrew would work. For those unfamiliar with this type of corkscrew, it fits right over the cork, you screw it in, then lift the wings which lift the cork. I only gave it medium stars for strength, although I won't really be using it until Thanksgiving and the Christmas holidays, so obviously it's still pristine. It just seems a bit flimsy to me as I'm pretty sure my old one was all stainless steel and this one seems to be partly plastic. I hope it lasts as long as the old one.
