Review on Motherboard ASRock B550M STEEL LEGEND by Mateusz Mazurkiewicz ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The product is working, but I will not repeat the purchase for sure.

Affordable cooling, but not without drawbacks: 1) The majority of case fan connections are located at the base of the unit. Who decided on such a course of action? Adapters are required to link the case's top fans to the front panel component. Two) The womb won't work with your grandma's Nvidia graphics card. I didn't realize that someone had already compiled such a list, therefore I can't give you a definitive answer. Until the prices of video cards dropped to the suggested ones to sit on the old asus gtx 770, I was under the impression that the gtx 770 could not produce a usable image. Even asrock support was unable to shed light on the issue for me. A month later, I had the chance to double-check with r7 240, and by that point, I had figured it all out. The picture came up after I switched out the video card. This does not appear to be a compatibility problem with older versions. r7 240, similar to the gtx 770 in that it features PCI Express 3.0 and was produced in the same year. The third possible issue is that the pcie latch is difficult to access. There is hardly any room for movement between the processor tower and the video card.

Pros
  • -Excellent cooling - Reasonable cost - Ample sata ports - PCI Express 4.0
Cons
  • It doesn't work with earlier graphics cards from competitors (such the Asus GTX 770), the case's 4pin arrangement is awkward, and the pcie latch is inconveniently located.
