The screen does not serve its purpose

I purchased this item to reduce the functionality of my screen and improve my privacy. As I said, the installation was very easy, but that would be the only true statement. After installation I tried to erase some of the bubbles on the screen and made it smaller so the glue got rid of the few remaining bubbles, a day went by and they were still there. In terms of privacy, the only way others won't be able to see what's happening on the screen is if they're not looking at it. At least the touchscreen sensitivity is still okay. I would say the only thing this product did was dim my screen.
