Review on πŸ”Œ Globe Electric 7791301 6-Outlet Swivel Space Saving Surge Protector Wall Tap with 2 USB Ports, Compatible with Android, iPad, iPhone, iPod, 2100 Joules, 2.1 AMP Charge, White Finish by Jay Blo

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good idea, bad mechanical design.

I bought this product mainly because of the USB ports. However, like other Globe products, it has one significant drawback: the top pins are plastic, they're too short and not thick enough to actually "grab" the plugs in the outlet, causing them to fall out due to the weight of the cords . Obviously the weight of the cords wouldn't pull the faucet out of the socket if they made the top pins out of metal pins. An even better solution would be to make both sets of tines out of metal. (I would have paid more for a design like this.) After plugging the faucet back into the outlet a few times, I finally pulled the outlet out of the box, rotated it 180Β°, and replaced it. Now the metal pins are on top as they should be, but of course the USB ports are on the bottom and the labels are upside down. CAUTION: In this case, be sure to connect the switch to the outlet. I bought a previous Globe socket with the same fault. Maybe one day they will actually read the reviews and change their design. If it weren't for this shortcoming, I would definitely give it 5 stars. And without my correction I would only give one. Perhaps a 2 star rating will catch their attention.
