OEM Toyota Best in Spare Parts

Three things I learned from this setup: 1. Don't use plastic parts of the engine as leverage when trying to pull the old valve out. In the process I broke the vacuum tube mount and had to glue it back together to complete this installation. It took very little force to break it. You can access the 3rd gen 4Runner's PCV valve without removing any parts, but there isn't much room to work (hence the broken plastic). The old eyelet will crumble completely if you start fiddling with it. I thought mine looked pretty good until I poked it with pliers. Buy a new bushing and plan on replacing it with a PCV valve. Only buy Toyota OEM version.3. The old bushing is falling apart and falling into what appears to be the top of the motor (it actually isn't). I used a vacuum to suck up the old bushing (which basically got into the bushing hole) and pull it towards the hole. I then used needle nose pliers to pull it out piece by piece. This can be done without dismantling the engine top section. To calm oneself down. That's stress. The valve I pulled out seemed to still work (150,000 miles) but it was sealed a bit. That gave me some clarity. The rest of the engine runs as before. It was a good buy. Do it. Do it now.
