Review on Antec NX400 Gaming Case - Mid-Tower ATX, Tempered Glass Side ๐ŸŽฎ Panel, LED Strip Front Panel, 360mm Radiator Support, Includes 1x 120mm ARGB Fan by Marcus Curry

Revainrating 5 out of 5

There are no instructions. The ARGB fan and front light strip use unexpected power connectors.

This case does not come with an instruction manual and I can't find one online. Installation is easy but a little confusing at first. There is a set of three types of screws mixed in one pack. It's a little annoying, especially since there aren't any instructions to tell you what goes where. The button head screws with a boss around the head are used to attach the motherboard to the standoffs. The screws with the tab marked on the bottom appear to be for installing the PSU. I don't think I found/remember what round screws were for. The fan and front LED strip are weird. The fan is powered by a Molex connector that plugs into the power supply and also has a two-wire cable that goes to the case's LED controller (maybe the fan controller too?). The front LED strip's power connector isn't Molex, it's SATA for a reason. It also connects directly to the power supply. To configure them, simply connect these two devices to the power supply. The fan is very loud at full speed. Since this is a Molex fan, this struck me as odd as, to my knowledge, these fans cannot be speed controlled without a controller. Despite this, the fan speeds up during gaming and slows down a few minutes after the games are closed. Maybe the LED controller also acts as a fan controller. I do not know.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
