I just installed it yesterday and I love it! I also bought a 5/8" black padlock that goes to was recommended for purchase at that point.I installed it on my 2014 Chevy Equinox but had an issue unrelated to this product. The holes in my Equinox trailer receiver were only 1/2" so a 5/8 -" lock wouldn't fit. The receiver on my Equinox is 1.25" so I didn't need a 2" adapter. Since I wanted to minimize wobble or stage snagging, I know that a 5/8" -bolt would work better so I used a 5/8" drill bit and reamed the holes on my Equinox receiver and now it's perfect. If you don't have a 5/8" hole in the coupler pocket or a 5 /8 inch drill you should use a 1/2 inch lock ss but the stage will wobble/loosen/clogg a little more. It's also recommended to apply anti-seize to anything that gets into the receiver to help prevent rust and make removal easier if you're changing before other clutch items. I would also recommend reapplying anti-seize every fall before winter, if you are in areas with a lot of snow and road salt. Finally, I used professional grade tape to cover all the exposed wires, both at the step and at the end of the connector attached to the car. I also bought 10 5/8" ID black rubber washers at a local hardware store to keep the lock from rattling on the road (5 on each side between the outside of the hitch pocket and the end of the lock).
