It should be a simple tool, reliable and no problem. No, that is not so. I have a lot of these squares in my tools and this one is useless. Every time you loosen the adjustment screw, the blade becomes hopelessly stuck. It takes a lot of wrangling and swearing to get it gliding again. I drop it, it's so annoying. Instead, I bought an old one off eBay. I'm willing to pay more for tools I can rely on and this isn't one of them. I even tried some mods and lubes to make it usable. I'm not sure if the problem is with my device, but it hasn't improved. I often use a 6" combo square when doing carpentry to check reveals and clearances, so I set it accurately and repeatedly throughout the day. Not worth the metal it's made of.
