My KENMORE grinder 175.605540 The new seal is 1/16 inch higher than the previous one and prevents the clamping ring from reaching the mating part. I had to grind/sand the difference from the top with a hydraulic jack (don't really think about it) to set/hold it in place so I could hold the clamp ring to get it to hook. Remember that a new gasket will need to be installed/pushed over the flanged hole in the top of the grinder. The texture of the rubber part is not smooth like the previous seal, but more like a sand cast piece. The drain hole is smaller, the water will flow back, if cooking fat gets into the water, more of it will stay in the sink. If genuine OEM equipment is available elsewhere I would suggest buying it. This shim turned a 1 minute job into a 45 minute challenge that had to be modified to make it work. There are other reviews that talk about the same incident. You are trustworthy.
