The ropes are very strong and rated for over 1000lb. But while that's an impressive weight, the metal turntable is only rated for 500 pounds. Of course, this means the whole contraption will only support 500 pounds. The vortex is the weak link. It's probably fine for most uses, but I'm nervous knowing that if multiple kids jump on the swing at the same time (like kids do), the metal hinge can break and cause injury. All in all I think this is a great product. I like tree straps to keep the bark of the tree intact. I might consider buying another swivel to replace the one that came with the kit.
