Works well enough for a variety of cheeses, always using a knife to cut the rind on cheeses with rind. Easy to clean by hand or in the dishwasher. There's no rust or other issues and it *should* get 5 stars, but the original cable only lasted 6 months. It lasted longer than some of the other discs I bought at the grocery store, but I was hoping it would last longer than 6 months. I bought the OSTI original replacement cable set at the same time as the slicer so I can at least still use it. Until the first replacement wire failed in less than a week. And the second replacement cable broke in less than a month. Now I have one last spare left and am trying to decide if a slicer was a bad choice to start with.
