I replaced my old 2" hitch with this powerful one as trailers make me nervous and I like to add power wherever possible. That helped! I would like to mention that the spring feature is pretty pointless, I had to use a hammer to snap the stem onto the ball (yes I took the pressure off of it), the spring isn't strong enough to snap it in. Also, I have to use the claw end of the hammer to open. I hope this loosens up over time, but I won't complain too much about a couple trying to stick together! I've found that if I pull the release lever lightly with my hand when raising/lowering my trailer, there usually comes a point where the pressure on the lever releases and I can easily open and close the pair. Hopefully there aren't any more hammers.
