Great latch, best trailer accessory

Probably one of the best ball latch systems available. It snaps in a way that's very obvious and won't be forgotten. This is by far the most expensive clutch, but is made in the USA and cast from steel rather than stamped sheet metal.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Very pretty and durable

I love how easy this model is to put together. The spring-loaded lock engages automatically when lowered. This hitch has a much heavier side metal construction than the regular stamped metal you see everywhere. I will buy another one for my other caravan.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Disappearing

Excellent hitch for implements

Molding says 15,000 lbs. Maybe not, but it's HD. In general, construction, coatings and equipment were optimal. No rust. Easy installation. The 3 hole pattern did not match after removing the titanium coupler but 2 of the 3 holes were clean. You will probably need to buy a new connecting lock for the latch diameter hole. Little problem. Very satisfied.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Available in white only

Very durable for outdoor accessories

It's boring! I like that the ball can fall without releasing the locking mechanism as other buyers have indicated the cover isn't the best. I cut the bottom half of an old 2 5/16 bullet I had lying around to make a small bullet and I lock it into the receiver and pop a hardened steel long shank 5/16 main lock into the pin hole fall, and here is the best one of the castle you will get!

Pros
  • It's amazing
Cons
  • Many things

The second one I had was

I found them a few bucks cheaper on another site but they didn't have first class shipping. I grabbed it from here and never looked back. It arrived early and fit perfectly except for two holes. They are drilled to 1/2" (13mm) but I had to open them to 5/8" (15mm). It's a solid piece and looks good. I had one on my last trailer and it lasted as long as I had the boat. Hopefully this one too.

Pros
  • Trailer Accessory
Cons
  • Expensive

rusty with pickled zinc

Quality control is terrible. I ordered one and it arrived rusty. The galvanizing has been etched as if stored under water. came back and ordered another one. Same terrible quality control. The welds were incomplete where the steel tongue adheres to the casting. Check out the photos. The first on the right and the second on the left. Structurally they appear to be solid. But for a brand new, expensive piece of steel, the looks leave a lot to be desired.

Pros
  • External accessories
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Nice upgrade, HARD to open and close

I replaced my old 2" hitch with this powerful one as trailers make me nervous and I like to add power wherever possible. That helped! I would like to mention that the spring feature is pretty pointless, I had to use a hammer to snap the stem onto the ball (yes I took the pressure off of it), the spring isn't strong enough to snap it in. Also, I have to use the claw end of the hammer to open. I hope this loosens up over time, but I won't complain too much about a couple trying to stick together!

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Slightly dented
