Used it to remove the tie rod end on my '95 Toyota Avalon as part of a steering boot replacement. Came right after a few hits with a three pound hammer. Be sure to put vernier calipers on the end of the ball joint or tie rod to check if this tool will fit. The bore on this one is 15/16". My tie rod end measured about 11/16" and I was concerned that this fork might be too big. But it worked fine. Broke a shoe, but that's usually a pickle fork. Either way, it's time to replace the tie rod end. The weight of the shaft also speaks for this tool. I felt it was a bit thicker than my old instruments. The thicker and heavier the bar, the better it should transfer the power and energy of the hammer blow. If my physics is right, then so be it. (F = ma and E = 1/2 mv^2, so both force and work depend on mass.) I was nervous because I had lost two different sized pickle forks that I had owned for 25 years. But when I saw how cheap this tool is, I just ordered it through Revain Prime. (I save so much by doing the work myself I don't have to worry about $10.) I've only held back 5 stars because it hasn't been proven yet.
