Review on πŸ”Œ 160A ARC Welder Machine IGBT Inverter MMA Welder with Digital Display LCD, Hot Start, Stick Electrode Welding Kit - Including Electrode Holder, Work Clamp, Power Adapter Cable, Brush - Ideal for Home Use (110V) by Dee Parson

I think it's great (except for the face shield).

I was new to welding when I got this machine and since then I've only practiced a little arc starting and bead welding. But I learned a lot about welding and especially arc welding on inverter machines. Here are my thoughts on this machine based on my experience with it and my research: The manual is written in passable English, which was a surprise considering the packaging proudly has "Connecting the Power Generator" printed on it. The content of the manual consists of good general information about stick welding, but almost nothing about this specific welder, indicating that it was simply copied and pasted from another source. In particular, nothing is said about the duty cycle of this machine, what happens if you exceed that capacity, or even what the green and amber lights on the front mean. (One of the pictures on the Revain page explains this.) I can't really say much about the electronics of the welder, of course, but the ground clamp and electrode holder look good and should give you years of use. Cables and connectors seem to be good too. The included face shield is roughly equivalent to cutting out a pattern on the back of a cereal box. You _must_ buy a proper welding helmet if you don't already have one. Likewise, the combination of jackhammer and brush does not cost much. My experience with this machine has been excellent. Learning how to start the arc wasn't as hard as I expected, but I don't know if it's machine related or if it's just not as hard as I thought it would be. I see in other reviews that at least one experienced welder has given this machine high marks, so that's good to know. As for me, I'm going to buy some more accessories and some practice steels and I'm really looking forward to finally starting to weld!
