I bought this as I bought the unit myself and it works the way you want it to. Although it is quite difficult to assemble. However, I can't say I could offer a better solution as it's difficult to fit a Nob into an aftermarket car and make it look like it's stock. The mount made on this model just didn't work in my 2015 Wrangler. There is no real space for mounting under the dashboard. I love the ability to adjust the bass without swapping out all the speakers when connected to a standard system.
