Consumes only 1400W, not 1800W. It's bad, isn't it? But what about 135 degrees when it's set to 300? 230 when set to 500, 340 when set to 700, 500 when set to 900. That's all my grill thermometer can handle, so I didn't turn it all the way out. But the trend is bad. This thing will never reach 1000 degrees. Also the quick thermostat I used showed a big difference between the edge of the nozzle and the center. The edge is more than 20 degrees hotter than the center, 1/2 inch from the hole. Step back a few inches and the temperature drops like a stone. My 40 year old porter cable can handle 500 degrees low and is 1200 watts. on high. This is a scam. But again, I'm giving it an extra star because it's *adjustable*. Low temperature control, might want this gun.
