Digital cables work or not. these works. It's stupid to spend a lot of money on it. This is how digital transmission works: 1. The sending device sends a packet including a checksum2 calculated from the data sent. The receiving block recalculates the checksum. If they don't match, it requests sending again. This continues until a good packet is received or the receiving device gives up. As long as a good packet is received before the buffer is exhausted (usually after many tries), the transmission will be perfect. The mistakes are obvious: the sound is either a pause in the output or a "chirp". There is no subtle difference in sound quality due to the quality of your digital cables. The process is the same as for digital video, but the error artifacts are different (still evident).
