These are just jumpers with alligator clips, so how could you ruin such a simple product? The small plastic covers over the clips are made of a type of plastic so smooth that it is impossible to squeeze the alligator clips to open them unless the covers are removed. I mean you are trying to squeeze the clips together and they just slide into the sleeve instead of opening. They're bone dry, but they feel like they're soaked in slime—they're incredibly slippery (whatever the material, it can be used as a newfangled lube). I found them completely useless.
