The taste of these tabs is really good. It's more of a sweet vanilla flavor and almost no mint. I started using them after using paste my whole life and chewing a pill still takes some getting used to. Not really bad, just weird. I've heard many reports that the tablets don't foam up like a paste. While technically correct, I wasn't expecting any foam, but it definitely isn't. The lather takes a while to build up from brushing and isn't as thick as a paste, but it definitely is. The foam is enough for me to spit out before cleaning my tongue. Otherwise it can be compared to noodles. My breath, teeth and tongue seem just as clean with the pills as with the paste. But now I feel good that I've taken another step to reduce the use of plastic.
