Anticipating making custom boxes for some collectibles, I purchased this 16" square as the extra length over my 12" square would come in handy for the project. Since the material would be cardboard, I didn't feel the need to resort to Starrett, Brown & Sharpe, or Bridge City tools and expense. Of course, this Empire isn't going to replace the above manufacturers, but for $15 it's well made and gets the job done. No slipping through with a blade and everything is solid. Also very accurate. Using my Brown & Sharp square as well as the Bridge City square to test accuracy, there was no noticeable variation in Empire blade length, only to the naked eye. Well done, accurate, and about fifteen bucks. It is difficult to find a fault in this square. And made in the USA
