It's been at least fifteen years since I made one and I've forgotten how much I missed it. I've always preferred the Dimensions brand and this time is no different, but some colors should have been lighter in my opinion. Just my personal opinion/like. There are still a few stitches I need to do, but after two and a half months of work I was tired and ready to give them to the recipient, so I'll add them later. It's for a man, so it's not as floral as others I've done in the past, but it's just beautiful. Like any other medium we work with in art, seeing a blank canvas, then blocks of color, and suddenly this image really starts to take shape, never ceases to amaze and amaze me. Then a dash is added (inverted line) and it's just emoticons. It was so exciting but sad because the gift was disappointing in the sense that I was very happy to give the gift and the response was very boring so I'm sad about that. I just hope that with all the technology these days, the opportunity to have these beautiful cross stitch kits never goes away. Dimensions is my favorite but I definitely want to try other brands because for some reason the threads seemed cheaper. than they are used to, and the colors don't match either. I hope the next one will be different. I know a lot of the reviews said there was a lack of thread color so I took that into account when working on mine. While I've always been good at this, I've made sure to use "every" length of thread possible, not pulling the thread too far from the last stitch, and saving cuts along the way if I need them. later for the skipped stitch. Everything ended up being perfect with lots of extra threads which will also help if you ever need or want it for your next project. This one had so many color changes that I made sure to buy lots of extra needles. Some broke so I would suggest this for those who are new to this and wouldn't think of it. All in all I love it! It's filled with love, caring, thoughts of others, great joy, tears and curses lol, and a gift that will last a lifetime. I made one for my father over 20 years ago and about a month ago he wrote me that of all his material possessions the one I made for him that hangs on his wall is still "one of his most prized" is. That motivated me to do it again. The joy he feels about it makes two happy hearts. Enjoy and Happy Cross Stitch :) PS I will try to upload two photos. One before the contours, the other after. It's amazing how it comes alive!
