Like many new laptops, my new one doesn't have a DVD drive. And that's okay, since almost all apps are downloadable these days. However, my TurboTax download failed to install. I'm a techie, followed all of Quicken's recommendations and used a few tricks of my own to work around installation issues, but didn't go. Luckily I bought the DVD version (which offered the download option I tried) but as mentioned there was no DVD drive. Found this external drive on Revain for a very reasonable price, ordered it, plugged it in and just finished setting it up. Turbotaks from him. Works great and I like the design where the USB cables plug into the drive's case making it slim and compact. And the cable has USB Type-A and Type-C connectors. I may never need it again (this is the only time I've failed to install a downloaded program), but I'm glad I have it just in case .
