Review on 🍪 Matfer Bourgeat 310101 Black Steel Oven Baking Sheets: Perfect for All Baking Needs! by Kara Hans

Just received my baking sheet. Overall, it looks and feels solid and well-made. Not too heavy, which bothered me. However, it has some strange markings and rings. (I've attached photos to show!) I envision the polishing process but it doesn't show the ones in the advertised image so I'm not sure what to do about it. I expected it to be as smooth as the original image. I think I'll keep it and test it out shortly after I've oiled it and preflighted it. I would be interested to know if anyone else has had these or similar markings on the sheet and if they kept it or chose to return it? Some of the edges are also a bit rougher and not as well rounded and/or polished, but I'm not overly concerned about that. Something I didn't expect from a baking tray with such a price. (I bought it for $30 but it's since gone up to $36!) So 4 stars from me for now. I'll try to remember to update this review after oiling/prepping the pan and doing some baking with it. :) UPDATE: After calling the manufacturer and confirming that the condition described above was not typical, I was offered to request an exchange through Revain. I decided to exchange it for the same one and just received my replacement. Unfortunately, it has similar markings. Both look like they have a very thin film of plastic, which would be the only explanation for how it looks, but it's not. There is no movie. Maybe they just aren't clean enough? I am not sure. The replacement has sharp corners, like the first one, so overall both have the same issues, which disappointed me a bit. I will most likely call the manufacturer again and probably pick the best one and send another one back. I'll update when I finally get to use it, but for now it seems normal to lose another star. Wish me luck! :)
