These are good for Arduino projects that need to know the real time of the clock, not just the milliseconds since the Arduino started up. Not visible in the picture is the coin cell battery (not included) that allows this device to keep track of time even when the Arduino is powered off. There are simple standard code libraries to interface and get the time. Now I can create an alert to remind me to unsubscribe if I'm not getting paid overtime :-)
