Review on AKG K72 Pro Audio Studio Headphones in Matte Black – Over-Ear, Closed-Back Design for Superior Sound by Robert Berio

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Pretty good all round headphones. Pretty fantastic price

They really like it as others have said they definitely have a pinch factor but I'm sure it will wear off over time. Also, they are quite comfortable; It could just be a pinch but right now I feel like my ears are touching the speakers lightly but that could clear up. They are much lighter than I expected so there is no pressure on the top of the head. I actually wanted to know how light they are, so I weighed them and they don't weigh anything. Literally 0 in every unit of measure. The other downside mentioned is the very long cord, which most people will find absurd. The poor reviewer whose cord got tangled in the wheels of his chair until he angrily threw his headphones against the wall; Thank you for inspiring me to coil the cable and tie it so that it is 1.5 meters long instead of 300 meters. I'm not a huge audiophile, but I write crappy electronic music in my bedroom. the last two years, so I'm a bit versed in sounds and stuff. They sound really fantastic to my ears, although I can only compare consumer in-ear headphones to a pair of Marley Liberate XLs, so keep that in mind. The XLs are pretty good, but they slope down noticeably, with Marley's signature warm bass tone. On the other hand they have to be neutral so I was afraid that with my electronic leanings there wouldn't be enough bass to satisfy me. Oddly enough, that's not the case at all, the bass doesn't sound much quieter than my Marley, it's more assertive and a hundred times more detailed. As a side note, the fact that the bass didn't disappoint adds weight. to the person who said they have very bloated bass. I don't own any headphones that I know of that are completely neutral, so I can't say for myself if the bass really gets blown out, but I can say the bass never overpowers or drowns out the mids or highs. all frequencies sound incredibly detailed to me, especially the high ones. In fact, the highs are a bit harsh on some songs with particularly heavy percussion, I've experienced this mostly on trap and I've had no problem with old-school jazz, rock or hip-hop - just electronic music. I didn't hear any noticeable hiss in the high frequencies except on "Heartbreak" Yelawolf. They're not particularly portable, but I love the purity of the fact that they don't really do anything other than play music. No built in mic or controls, no frills just good music which is a pretty nice approach and embodied in a very nice pair of headphones. They look absolutely amazing despite the fact that the materials look cheap (and probably considering the price). I will definitely keep an eye on AKGs for future purchases just for their looks. I think that pretty much sums up this review. I really like them and the last few days I've been listening to music mainly to hear all the details that I missed before, everything sounds much cleaner and more alive than before. I definitely recommend these banks :)
