Tested under the door and my hardwood floor. Didn't stop the door from opening.
I recently heard of a great idea to travel with a door key like this and then for extra security if you are staying in a hotel, hostel, airbnb etc that You can put this in a closed bedroom door at night and then potential intruders cannot OPEN your door. Spring. I tested this item under a door and in my apartment with a parquet floor. When I tried to push the door it REALLY opened and the wedge just slid across the floor while the door kept being pushed. This stopper did not prevent the door from opening.
