This item is ideal as a replacement for the remote control! I've had a Harbor Breeze Saratoga 60" in my living room for over 8 years now. I bought it new from Lowe's and installed it myself. Over the years my area has had a few power outages with no lasting ill effects. But last month we had a power outage that somehow affected several items in my house. As for the ceiling fan, once power is restored, my remote only controls the lights. The fan itself is completely stuck in high speed mode. I've tried my best to control the fan using the remote but to no avail. I replaced the battery. I tried different DIP switch settings. Nothing worked. So my only option was to buy an "after sale" remote. This oddly named Eogifee- Device was installed as a standard control device and behaved like a stan after switching on again dard control unit! I was so happy. Instead of zero control, I now have 100% control over my fan. I'm so chatty and cringing right now, but I can tell you with absolute honesty that this replacement is a winner. Works great.
