So I bought this little thing because it was cute and I hoped it would actually work. My box arrived and I hesitated to open it thinking I was crazy and just had to return it. But unfortunately on Saturday morning I stepped up and used it to shred potatoes. I figured if he could handle the potatoes he'd be good. I was surprised at how easy it was to "assemble" and even easier to use. The base sticks to your countertop so you don't have to struggle to hold it in place, twist the knob, and push (technical term) that thing down. The handle turned slightly. My muscle should use the gizmo to push the food against the grater. But far less muscle power than with manual shredding on a crate shredder. MUCH less muscle. This thing worked like a dream! In less time than it would take to shred a potato by hand on a shredder, I chopped 5 with this nifty contraption! In earnest. Try it. You will like it. Update. Of course, one month after the warranty expired, one of the plastic parts came loose. It still worked. until last week when it came up. So 2 months use is all I have. Very sad. I love this little thing.
