It seems like this little screen was designed for an entirely different project that never came to fruition, so someone added a driver board and made it a standalone product. It comes with a small plastic stand that doesn't really fit on top of it, but it does hold it up. The driver board is fully exposed, so you must be careful how you use it. It's advertised as a Raspberry Pi display, but there's nothing that really ties it to the Pi other than the presence of an HDMI input and its size. Due to exposed parts, it is not very portable after unpacking. In fact, you should really keep the box handy until you have something more permanent to keep that display in. I'm going to use it as a status indicator for my Christmas lights system, so it will be panel mounted. I could use it to build a miniature RetroPie system or even have a small media player, but it would take some time to design the case. Even for my own use I will 3D print a mount for my panel. This is a great little screen. It has a decent resolution and no frills. This is clear to the manufacturer. If you're looking for a ready-to-use portable display and not something to fiddle with, then this isn't your game.
