Stable performance when used in "Range Extender Mode 1" (the default setting) with the ASUS DSL-N12U in a home network. There have been no network freezes or outages for a long period of time. Definitely improved apartment-wide coverage. Some devices were not working earlier in the evening, and WiFi "fell off" on the ultrabook in the room farthest from the router, as well as in the kitchen (which is four walls away). Everything is wonderful now. Theoretically, the speed should be reduced; instead, I experienced the opposite: the WiFi speed rose and the connection became reliable in formerly problematic places. Extremely powerful LEDs are used. Does anyone restrict taking a break from technology at night? No resetting or reconfiguring is necessary. For some, plugging in a bulky appliance will be more of a hassle than plugging in a small power supply. I had to put in a second outlet in the hallway, so I used double-sided tape to attach it to the wall next to the shoe rack. There was no damage to the exterior:-) Some users and reviewers have noticed a very slight "squeak" from the machine when it is in operation. Not in my experience, at least. Maybe you happened to stumble upon a copy, or the maker jogged your memory.
