Watch what you purchase. The ones online I am seeing indicate that the (in my case, 2002 Ford Explorer) uses a 14" hood strut. That is incorrect. The 14" is no where close to being able to fit. I measured my old ones and they came out to 10". These fit perfectly and held the hood up fine. No more bonking on the head. Decent price too. Would recommend.
