Review on Stainless Shoulder Tolerance Diameter Threads Fasteners by Eric Williamson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

More use than one.

I was looking for a way to fit pistols in my small safe but it only held about two 1911s when placed side by side at a floor level were placed secure 6 inches. Then I saw these shoulder studs and thought they were perfect. I mounted them in a portable drill press and rotated the drill press and my bench grinder in my head. I continued to work until the overdose of the head matched the bore of my gun. The shoulder diameter would be ideal, but I still wanted to be able to use an Allen key for shoulder screws. After getting all the bolts down to the correct diameter, I laid them out on the back of my safe, drilled and attached the modified shoulder bolts to the back of the safe. Instead of two pistols (like the safe was designed for), I can now easily fit six pistols in the same safe.

Pros
  • Flanged studs have a finished look suitable for outdoor use
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly
