Ordered this to replace the tank on my Hoover f7452-900. The walls of the old tank were paper thin where the bottom gaskets connected to the tank and over time they became brittle and began to leak. This unit has held up well over the years and I was happy to find a $40 replacement part, even if it seemed a bit overpriced for injection molded plastic. Today I received a new tank and tested it myself. . The new tank is definitely more durable and thicker where needed. In fact, it looks a lot bigger, but it fits where the smaller tank was without any problems. KEEP HANDLE away from old tank. As others have pointed out, this has nothing to do with it. My only criticism so far is that the old tank had holes with tabs on top where you fill it. The new one doesn't. Not that big of a problem if you use all the detergent at once. But if, like me, you use it primarily to clean stains, pouring in unused detergent is going to make a mess. Get a funnel. 4/5 for not going the extra mile otherwise it would have been 5/5.
