Review on πŸ”‘ KeylessOption Keyless Entry Remote Key Shell Case Cover Repair for Honda Civic CR-V CR-Z Fit Odyssey + Screwdriver (Pack of 2) by Mark Hicks

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It is very difficult to get it working. - Honda Fit 2008

Attached are two photos of my ORIGINAL key open. Electronics fly with no problems. The part I labeled 1 has a chip inside. You can remove the cap but the chip is glued in and we had to destroy the original sleeve to get it out without damaging the chip. (By chip I mean it looks almost like a rectangular magnet.). The part I labeled 2 is the plastic frame that holds the key's metal barbs (has a T-tip). Getting the key out of the original was very close. Fitting the new part was just as difficult and the bad part is the screw holes don't line up so you'll have to enlarge them without damaging them. And also get a metal key in its holder without breaking it. The NEW key case you are buying here does not have the box I marked 1 for the chip. Without this chip, the engine turns but never starts. You need it and don't have space to put the new key in. That part "1" just doesn't exist. I glued my chip into the new case touching the metal key and now it works. But the key is not fixed. The crack is a little open due to screw displacement, but it worked. Although hardly. No guarantees for you. break it up a bit and you're done. So 0/5 rating for easy installation. Rated 0/5 for ease of assembly. Overall rating 3/5 because it saved me $250 at the dealership. Razor blades and knives were used to extract the shavings, with some risk to the fingers. Again, this is for a 2008 Honda Fit. . For CR/V or Odyssey it might be a different experience. I can't say because I don't know.
