Too bad about the Technivorm

First of all, the Technivorm makes great coffee and the carafe is easy to pour. At the same time, the company's shame for continuing to produce an unimproved, primitive product. Technivorm has long recognized that high power and consequently high water temperature is the key to brewing coffee correctly and has become a leader in the broad field of automatic drip brewers. However, over the years other manufacturers have come to the same conclusion and have launched brewers with the same capabilities. In the meantime, Technivorm has seemingly rested on its laurels and made no significant innovations or improvements. The brew basket needs to be removed from the machine to fill, yet it doesn't have a flat bottom to stand upright. And it's thin. It's also not easy to clean in the dishwasher because the hollow bottom doesn't drip. It's not an espresso machine, and yet the Dutch seem to be thinking 4 oz. This is a regular cup of coffee - accounting for a machine that can only brew 5 regular cups (6 oz) for an 8 cup machine. There is a thin plastic base under the vacuum jug, which will fall off the machine when you move it. Not that it's difficult, but making coffee requires "assembling" a set of Erector parts, a process that other brewers have made easier through better design. Yes, the Technivorm comes in a variety of finishes and colors, but these options are just an overhaul of a chunky tool.
