I have changed my previous highly rated review of this unit after more research and terrible experience. The material is a standard fabric/yarn and poses a MAJOR hazard to bird paws and claws as the material begins to wear down. 2 days ago my parrot stuck his front right claw in some material, got scared and broke off most of the claw cleanly, blood everywhere and on the poor bird too. Luckily it rolled up well enough but it hurt her for a few days and I took it out as soon as I realized what had happened and won't be using it again. She is better now but her front right claw is visibly broken and still slightly swollen. Beware of such materials when your bird is unattended!
