Update on the original review: I've had the radio for over a year now and I still love it. Yes, the display is bad, but I don't spend much time on it. The biggest surprise is that this device streams my stations ad-free even though I have a free Pandora account. I saved a lot of money in 13 months of use. My guess is that Sangean paid Pandora a commission for providing free commercial services. My rating is now 5 stars just because of this feature and also because everything else works so well. First, the sound is great, easily filling a room and even the floor of a house. Second, it has an amazing range of input sources from traditional FM, CD, internet radio and Pandora, flash drives and memory cards. I ADJUSTED THE CONTRAST AND THE SCREEN IS NOW VERY READABLE. Ignore what I originally wrote, now in parentheses. (The screen is bad. Reminds me of 8-bit computers from the 1970's. It's very pixelated and when scrolling up the text is almost unreadable due to the slow update time) Device requires a smartphone app! The board is simple. Sit back and enjoy the sound while ignoring everything else, at least until you decide to switch your music source.
