Safe, durable, auto-dimming hood for the budget conscious.

For the price, this is a very decent auto-dimming lens hood. This Lincoln is doing his job. I no longer have to worry about blind starts like I did with the non-automatic hood. A lightweight. I have a few complaints. The viewfinder is at the small end. But for the price I expected that. I also want the darkness controls to click instead of rotating smoothly. Because I accidentally increased the darkness level by a few numbers without even realizing it. But if that particular lens hood had a clicking dial, I think this issue could have been avoided altogether. Basically, this will let the user know if they accidentally changed the darkness setting. And the last minor complaint is the cocking knob at the back of the head. I wear scarves and bandanas because I'm sweating. And I find it a bit difficult to get the tight seal I want. And I end up letting my hair down too much and getting the tight fit I want. And I end up having to play around with tension all day long because it slipped out of my head. My complaint isn't that you shouldn't buy this hood. On the other hand. If you are looking for an affordable auto-dimming hood, this Lincoln Electric is definitely the one for you.
