My kids loved the Leap Frog. In fact, we still have our original system. But I finally stopped buying her books when I realized I could spend the same $15 on a computer program. While this new iteration of the Leap Pad is sleek and noticeably improved, a quick look at the book selection tells me the price is still attractive. Problem. On the plus side, this Leap Pad has consistent front and back interior coverage that's filled with preschool activities. When you start reading a book, you can just start navigating; Gone are the days when you had to somehow tell the notepad what book you're creating and what page you're on. It's a lot more intuitive. On the other hand, how will it compete with your kid's tablet? Two books included. A true story. The other contains only example pages from other books. The handle is permanently attached so you won't lose it, which is always a plus. Batteries are supplied pre-installed.
